Cardedu is the newest commune in the Province of Ogliastra.
The littoral area has two different kinds of coast: one sandy and one rocky. The sandy coast stretches for about 4.5km with one beach after another, like those of Foddini, Tramalitza, Museddu and of Perd’e Pera. There are plenty of natural attractions in the area. The territory has a very varied morphology with wide plains, gentle hills, mountain ranges and stretches of coast. In the mountainous areas, it is possible to enjoy a magnificent view.
The Mount Ferru area has a notable variety of species of animals and plants, attracting the attention of numerous visitors for the distinctiveness of its flora and fauna and for the possibility of going for country walks in the area.
